University
The western tip of British Columbia's Lower Mainland is officially designated as the University Endowment Lands. This vibrant community is an amalgamation of the world-renowned University of British Columbia, Pacific Spirit Park's vast old-growth forest, and the urbanized University Hill community comfortably nestled between the two. Together, these comprise a shining example of the active preservation of greenspaces within the Greater Vancouver region, a key characteristic that makes Vancouver's lifestyle so appealing to so many.

In addition to its world-class educational, research and recreational facilities, the area features elementary schools, a secondary school, a golf course, extensive hiking trails and two beaches, with Pacific Spirit Park, a park that's roughly double the area of Stanley Park, providing a natural buffer from the city proper. Fairview
Fairview includes the neighbourhoods of False Creek, Fairview Slopes, Burrard Slopes and Fairview Heights.

Fairview is one of the most eclectic areas in the Lower Mainland because it has successfully combined the various land uses of industrial, recreational, upscale condominiums as well as single-family homes dating from the 1900s. Dunbar/Southlands
Somewhat triangular when looked at from an aerial view, Dunbar- Southlands is an area bordered to the north by 16th Avenue and to the south by the Fraser River. The western boundary runs along the UBC Endowment lands to the Fraser River and the eastern boundary is Mackenzie Street.

Dunbar (or Dunbar Heights as it is sometimes known) is a quiet residential area of traditional single-family homes. Recent rezoning has produced more pockets of two family dwellings as well as secondary suites or additional units in some of the original single-family homes. Also, close to the two main retail shopping areas, there has been the development of multi unit condominium developments.

Southlands is a part of the low-lying flatland that lies just to the south of the main artery of Southwest Marine Drive and flows down to the Fraser River. Southlands continues to maintain its "country living" status even though its residents are within a 20 minute drive of the downtown Vancouver core. Read the full profile... Yaletown/Concord Pacific
False Creek North has fast become a Vancouver and BC success story. Its vibrancy is reflected in the Concord Pacific and Yaletown communities.

Concord Pacific has taken over the area of the old Expo 86 site – all 204 acres – and turned it into the epitome and envy of urban planners throughout North America and the world. The area is a successful mixture of over 8,500 residential units with 2.6 million square feet of commercial space and the harmonious blending of social housing, parks, schools, community facilities, and waterfront walkway/bicycle routes. The community demographics consist of pre-school to seniors with everyone in between.

The streets of Pacific, Drake, Homer and Nelson officially bound the increasingly popular urban downtown area of Vancouver - Yaletown. It began its existence as an eight-block warehouse district laid out in proximity to the railway and is now considered one of the trendiest areas in Vancouver to "be seen".

With vibrant nightlife, a plethora of upscale and affordable restaurants, high-end grocers and retail stores, loft residences and boutique hotels, the location is within walking distance of numerous parks, the False Creek north seawall, marinas, and the downtown core...Concord Pacific and Yaletown offer a rich, colourful and varied urban lifestyle.

Arbutus
Much of the area's friendly character is exemplified by the quaint Ridge Theatre cinema and bowling alley at the intersection of 16th Avenue and Arbutus Street that mark the northeast corner of Arbutus Ridge. The tight-knit community features two elementary schools and one secondary school, plus eight parks and three mini-parks in a comparatively small area. As such, Arbutus Ridge is an ideal place for young families. Read the full profile... View my Arbutus Ridge Listings

Shaughnessy
Known by many as the Vancouver's Grand Old Neighbourhood, Shaughnessy is a direct result of the city's substantial economic boom in the early 1900s. Developed by the Canadian Pacific Railway, and named for then president Sir Thomas Shaughnessy, the area is an early and, in many ways, ideal example of a planned community. Winding tree-lined streets (designed by the Montreal landscape architecture firm Todd and Franck, designers of New York's Central Park) are flanked by well-tended hedgerows and gardens surrounding enviably large and luxurious houses.
The Shaughnessy community is, by design, strategically located in the centre of the city with convenient access north to downtown or south to the airport. There are two elementary schools, a secondary school, and four community parks including the breathtaking 55-acre VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Read the full profile ... View my Shaughnessy Listings.

Kerrisdale
At times described as a village, Kerrisdale is a comforting blend of rural charm, urban convenience and suburban breathing room. Historically, this has been the kind of stable urban community where you know your neighbours' names. As a result, any service you could think a community could use is likely already in place: schools, daycare, two swimming pools, a seniors' centre, a skating rink, an arena, even two major golf courses!

On top of this, Kerrisdale boasts a shopping district that is an attraction for the entire city. Here you can find stores, specialty shops, cafés and restaurants for just about any taste imaginable. Read the full profile... View my Kerrisdale Listings.
